Growing up in a multilingual environment taught me to pay
close attention to how different words can shape the meaning of the same idea.
This fascination led me to study linguistics and ultimately evolved into a
career translating between English and Indonesian.

Most of my work falls into two main areas. The first is legal
translation, which includes contracts, notarial deeds, articles of association,
court documents, and civil registry paperwork needed for visas, marriages, and
studying overseas. The second area is life sciences, where I handle clinical
trial documents, informed consent forms, and patient questionnaires. In this
field, even a single ambiguous word can significantly change a participant's
understanding of what they're agreeing to, so precision is critical. That’s a
big reason I find this work so rewarding.

My translation approach is straightforward: I focus on
understanding the document's purpose before deciding how to translate it. For
instance, while both a consent form and a marketing brochure need to be easy to
read, they should convey information quite differently. Instead of assuming, I
prefer to ask a clarifying question at the outset to ensure I capture
the essence of the message.

I’m also a certified professional on ProZ.com, and I use
tools like Trados Studio and memoQ daily. I keep client
glossaries and style guides organized and up to date, rather than trying to
remember them from one project to the next. I take deadlines seriously. If
