Description | The Austrian Association of Court Interpreters is a nonpolitical, nonprofit organization existing for more than 75 years with the declared objective of furthering the professional and business interests of sworn and certified court interpreters in Austria. For that purpose, the Association (being the sole representative) conducts negotiations with the competent Austrian authorities on matters related to Court Interpreters (Court Experts and Interpreters Act, Court Experts and Interpreters Fees Act); it maintains contacts with all Austrian authorities that have by their activities a direct or indirect impact on Court Interpreters; it prepares expert opinions on the qualification and character of persons applying for registration in the List of Sworn and Certified Court Interpreters (How to become a Court Interpreter); it organizes seminars for applicants (Events), seminars on terminology and discussion groups for members; it publishes information sheets, printed fees forms, information on professional problems as well as various Work Sheets and Study Material; it finally acts as an arbitration forum hearing disputes over certified translations. |
