I have a specific biography translation project I want to develop (English-Spanish). I am interested in advice on how to approach publishers, literary translation rates and other considerations I should be aware of (I generally do commercial translation).

I have experience as a literary translator in Spain and would love to see other fellow translators' approach to the topic. I can offer up-to-date information on contacting publishers/ publishing houses and literary translation rates in Spain, so feel free to contact me.

author's rights for translators - are there any? I worked in an authors' rights agency in 1992-93 - they existed on paper, but in legal practice were hard to get..although I sued a publisher ten and received damages..but now I have 2 books translated (one under contract) and published under another 'translators' names..and did not even start proceedings, knowing how the legal system has deteriorated
