Description:
"Client is always right": this phrase is often misinterpreted and overestimated. Do clients always know what they need? They think they do, however the reality proves otherwise. What should we do if we know that our client is WRONG? How can we help the clients to adjust their goals? How can we avoid losing a good client because of a goal mismatch? The goal of the session is to show that there is no such thing as “good translation” without a properly set client - translator relationship based on matching expectations.
This session will focus on several typical cases of translator - client interaction, discuss possible dilemmas and suggest practical solutions. Our task as professionals is not only to provide high-quality translation, but also to be able to "diagnose" the underlying needs that our clients have and find the best solution for them in a specific context.
