After almost two years of consultation, research, debate and revision, the new Code of Ethics, incorporating a new Code of Conduct, is scheduled to be voted on at the AUSIT AGM in Sydney on 1 December 2012.

The Code is a very important tool that guides the practice of interpreting and translation. The new version contains a number of significant changes and additions designed to reflect AUSIT’s drive to raise standards and improve the level of language service delivery in a changing professional environment.

The final draft Code will be presented by Christian Schmidt, a member of the Code of Ethics working group who also coordinated the final stage of the Code of Ethics review process. The hour-long presentation will be followed by an open question and answer period.

Please mark this important date in your diaries; registration details to follow.

PD POINTS VALUE: Attendees receive 10 professional development (PD) points within the new revalidation framework.

Please email [email protected] for more information or registration details.
