Nothing whatsoever to do with 'translation' - yet another potentially high-risk 'voice data recording' exercise.
Peter, Paul and Mary sang a song about it, in the days of my youth: "When will they ever learn?". Pete Seeger - we need you here NOW!

I didn't know it existed and, in the 12 years since I am a ProZ.com member, I have hardly ever applied for jobs also through the old site since those have almost always been only about the cheapest quote.
To tell the truth, I no longer remember how I acquired any of my current or previous regular clients, but chances are they found me through this site and contacted directly. At this point I'd be rather surprised to get any new ones that way... | | | | AllegroTrans (X) Inggris Local time: 06:27 Prancis ke Inggris + ... | So what have you to say, Site Staff? | Feb 9 |

It would be instructive (but probably not constructive) if a member of Site Staff could respond to Jennifer and the rest of us that are FED UP TO THE TEETH about these scam/spam/suspicious "jobs".

Well, yes, of course. But they are no longer mere 'jobs' - they've been rewrapped as 'OPPORTUNITIES' !!!!
Don't you sense that the new name makes them far more exciting? - Far more worthy of your enthusiastic attention?
No? - Oh well, back to the drawing board Henry!

I went to this "Opportunities" site to check it out, tried to enter my source language (Korean), and found that the box to select the source language was completely broken and unscrollable. I just tried it for fun, and it doesn't work at all. The source language can't be chosen (it's unscrollable), so it's completely useless. If I select 'Use my language pairs', the only option that appears is a translation job in K'iche', Q'anjob'al, Akateko, Chuj, Mixteco Bajo, Purepecha, Q'eqchi', Zapotec and Ixil Mam. Not exactly my field 🙄
I somehow don't get what ProZ is doing. Do they even test their new sites? | | |

No, they obviously don't test stuff before it goes live. And they don't QA anything - or if they do, they I hate to think what their QA check-list looks like!
WE test them. In our own time, at our own expense - and in doing so we consume yet more of our own depleted patience as we explain, time and again, that the 'new'/'next'/'perhaps sometime in the future'/'when pigs can fly' website is unwanted, unnecessary and fit only for early euthanasia.
And in the meantime, some of our sensitive personal data is still visible in our 'next' profiles. Our service offer is still being mis-represented in the 'next' profiles. The job filters (ups, sorry -'opportuuuuuuuunities' filters) don't work the same on all versions of the job system, etc. etc.
Not to mention the on-going flow of junk jobs that have nowt to do with translation or interpretation.
