Hello,

I will move to Graz very soon and I need advice about the necessary steps in order to live and work in Austria as a freelance.
I've read about the Anmeldebescheinigung but I can't understand how does it work for freelance.

Thank you for your help

Hello Martina,

I have been working as a translator and interpreter in Austria for alsmost ten years now. In Austria work is very straictly regulated, but the good news is that administration is very smooth and efficient.
Just contact the Chamber of commerce = Wirtschaftskammer WKO as soon as you are here and they will explain everything to you. They are very service-oriented and even provide info and advice in other languages

https://www.wko.at/Content.Node/Interessenvertretung/st/index.html

WKO has a centre for Single-Person- Enterprises= EPU Einpersonenunternehmen
https://www.wko.at/Content.Node/Interessenvertretung/EPU/Startseite_EPU_Steiermark.html
I know the centre in Vienna, they are also increadibly helpful. There are lots of trainings, workshops anc also individual consulting services that you can use for free!

Last but not least there is the WKO section for LSPs:
https://www.wko.at/Content.Node/branchen/w/Gewerbliche-Dienstleister/Uebersetzungsbueros-Sprachdienstleister/Startseite---uebersetzungsbueros-Sprachdienstleister.html
Get in touch with them and they will explain all you need to know.

There is a great amount of funding that you can get for your enterprise, e.g. 75% of the costs for a webiste, etc. You will find tons of information on funding at WKO.

I'd start by getting in touch with the WKO, they will explain what you need to do first, what documents you need, etc.

Good luck!
Eszter

As I have already said...I've read about the Anmeldebescheinigung but I can't understand how does it work for freelance. It's not so easy if you are a beginner and of course getting help from real people who can share their personal experience is way more useful than just reading websites.
