Hello!
In october we'll spend 10 days in Barcelona. We would like to travel from there to Palma de Mallorca by boat/ferry. I have tried the three lines that service the Port of Barcelona, but could not obtain any useful price-related information. When you choose English, they continue showing all text in Spanish and nothing seems to work.
So if anyone could tell me roughly, how much a trip to Palma costs (we'll spend at least two days on the Baleares) I would appreciate it. ... See more Hello!

We are also searching for links to cheap accomodation in Barcelona (pension, hostal). So if you have experience with Barcelona holidays, could you please share it?

Hi Heinrisch,
if you're only going to Mallorca for a couple of days, I suggest you go by plane, unless your idea was to take your car with you. The flight from Barcelona only takes about 30 minutes and the price will be around 75 € (per person, both ways). On the other hand, the boat takes quite long, 7 hours.

Hi Heinrich,
I'm from Barcelona and I would have a look at http://www.trasmediterranea.es. You can always send an email and see if they can send you information about prices and so on. Their email is [email protected] (I guess they'll have someone who understands English!!). Another option is going by plane, as Maria suggests. It's faster and the price is more or less the same.
I'm sorry but I can't recommend you any hostal or hotel. You can visit some webs like http://www.barcelonahotels.es/_prgr01/home.asp, http://www.hotelsbarcelona.org. Anyway, If you need any help or want to know if the location of the hotel is ok and all that, you can always send me an email (have a look at my profile). I'll be glad to help you.
I hope you have a nice stay in Barcelona and Mallorca (although I would recommend you to go to Formentera instead!)
Hope this helps,
Bel

I had a look at the map and noticed, that the distance is about 300 km, so 7 hours is not that much on a nice day. Also the price of less than 100 Euro is not that much after all.
From here flights to Mallorca are rather expensive, so we probably will take the opportunity to visit there from Barcelona. We are going to walk in the mountains.
We could combine boat and plane, one direction each.

These links do not work in English. They are Spanish only. If I click on English flag I get to Dover.
But doesn't matter, I won't book in advance.
